Who am I?

I was born with a form of cerebral palsy that means I am a hemiplegic. This affects the right side of my body . As a baby, medical staff and doctors believed that there was a good chance that I would never be able to walk or talk.

They couldn’t be more wrong. In fact I grew up excelling at the things they thought impossible (especially the talking part). Growing up I took part in dance lessons, climbing some of the highest mountains in Africa, being a junior champion in gymnastics, and now?

Now I proudly represent Wales as a 100m T38 sprinter and have competed both at home and across Europe.

As a para athlete myself, I have had first hand experience of how the media have treat us, and the opportunities that we miss out on because of the certain labels that come before the word athlete.

My aim, ultimately, is to showcase para athletes to combat their frequent insensitive treatment in the media. Today the Olympics and Paralympics are run as two different organisations and entities. In the future they should be one organisation that represents all athletes because #weareallathletes.

We can make a difference.
