Hello!

I am Amirah and I am a Welsh para athlete studying Media Communications. For my final year dissertation I have chosen to focus on the treatment of para athletes in the media. My research portfolio (available to download from the Resources Area) builds the case for bringing together para and non-parathletes under one governing body.

Welsh Athletics is leading the way in representing all athletes, however, we still have a long way to go to be seen as athletes first and not just disabled athletes. My campaign aims to help all athletes, para and non-para, to reframe how we think about ouselves and our fellow athletes because #weareallhuman and #weareallathletes.
