Hello! 

I am Amirah and I am a Welsh para athlete studying Media Communications at Bath Spa University. For my final year dissertation I have chosen to focus on the treatment of para athletes in the media.  My research portfolio, available in the Download area, builds the case for bringing together para and non-para athletes under one governing body.  

Welsh Athletics is leading the way in representing all athletes, however, we still have a long way to go to be seen as athletes first and not disabled athletes.  My campaign aims to help all athletes, para and non-para, to reframe how we think about ourselves and our fellow athletes because…..
